End of Unlimited Deal : PLDT in Buying Suncellular

For those who benefit on unlimited text and call of Suncellular, the acquisition of PLDT on Suncellular worries them. It is still unknown whether the buy off of Suncellular would be beneficial to the consumers or only to the stakeholders of the company.

Suncellular has 16 million subscribers, although it is not the primary choice of telco network among Filipinos. However, for those who are holding more than one mobile phone, Suncellular has remained to be the top choice because of the unlimited call and texts it offers. Last March 31, PLDT and Suncellular sealed the deal of the former buying 51.55% of the shares of the latter.

I must admit that I am one of the many people who owns more than one phone, in fact I have my own mobile numbers for all the three major telecommunication network. I am a bit worried if PLDT would require Suncellular to stop its offer of unlimited calls and texts. For moms who are budget conscious, a mobile phone load of only 150php per month with unlimited texts to same network and 200 minutes of free call to same network (Sun-to-Sun) is a big help on my budget. Losing such kind of services would mean lesser time to communicate with the people I love.

Aside from this worry, DadEngr (my hubby) also works for Suncellular and we are unsure on what effects it would bring to Suncellular employees. The last thing I learned from hubby about the buy-off is that by June 2011, PLDT will officially take over about running the business of Suncellular.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for two main reasons, the first one as a consumer. That the services I (and the other millions of Suncellular subscribers) enjoy from Suncellular would still be the same, or improved would be much better. Of course, I am also hoping that the higher management of PLDT would be considerate about the welfare of the employees of Suncellular. I hope that there will be no retrenchment of employees and that they would look into the compensation and benefits of the Suncellular employees too.

Business Card, a Status Symbol?

Is a business card considered a status symbol? Is is a subtle way of bragging one's achievements? My boss and I were talking yesterday regarding the work title versus your real passion. It is not enough that you earn the title but your should be passionate with what you do. Then that is the only time that you can say that you are proud with what you do. I don't work as in the traditional work of going to the office or the field to do my job, I work at home. I can have customized business cards made to hand out to friends whenever we meet. But I opted not too.

my badge
In case someday I would decide to have a customized business card, I wonder what design should I use. Would I carry my blog badge? Do I need to include in the card the company name of my full-time online work? Since my blog badge is a drawing of a little girl, would it look like a professional business card or a party invitation? LOL. Maybe I should try to check out for serious designs, like that of the spiritualbusinesscards But then again, maybe not!

My business card would definitely include my blog badge, because little by little I am becoming more passionate about improving and enhancing my skills, so I can call myself a "blogger". Am I right boss Fedhz?

Freelancer Payment Proof

I totally forgot about the request for withdraw from my earnings at Freelancer.com; today I received the payment at my Paypal account. I am quite happy with my online work; no time pressure involved. But it can be addicting most especially if you see fruits of your hard work.

Making Money Online

I have been working full time as a content writer, and a part-time virtual assistant. I have never kept track on my earnings, and as I was checking the history payments received in my Paypal account, I was surprised that I have actually earned this much. My salary is paid on a weekly basis and I am quite satisfied with how things are doing.

Aside from my full-time job; I could still get additional work from my boss Fedhz for additional income. According to her, I suit very well the title of VA not as Virtual Assistant but as Very Addict.

How about you, have you tried to work online? If you are in need of a ghost writer and a VA; I can be of service to you.

It's Official!

My hubby is a telecommunications engineer; for the past three years he was working for one of the major vendors of telecoms equipment. He was on a project basis at that time; so yearly the company would have the option to renew his contract or not. The company that he works with pays well, however, there was no job security. Before his end contract last September 30th; we both decided that it's about time that he look for a job that would give him the security of tenure.

We patiently waited and prayed for the perfect company to offer him a new job. After two months of waiting; our prayers were answered. Now it's official; he is now part of the Digitel Mobile Philippines Inc. He was offered a competitive salary ; something which is equivalent to all the work he is expected of him. What's good about the job is the chance to get regularized and receive all the benefits due to a regular employee.

It is no longer hard for him to adjust with his new workmates; because he was actually handling some projects of Digitel Mobile Philippines, Inc. We started last December 1st and hopefully he would receive all the benefits and credits due of him; which he had not experience with his previous company.

Manic Monday

Ever since I started doing online work; I consider this day as probably the second most draining day (the first one happened last Wednesday..deadlines! argh!). I woke up a bit late because I slept late last night because I had to finish blog hopping and commenting. Although I am used to having a hectic schedule, this day is quite different. I feel like a drained battery (but here I am still doing my blog post). Being a VA no longer stand for Virtual Assistant- but Very Addict; I have tons of work from my other boss but I can't resist accepting other job assignments too. I could not easily say No to my boss (right Fedhz?); she tells me to give my other tasks to other people but I can't simply do that. I need to work. I want to work and I love to work. My braincells were not in use for a long time; and I can say that this time around, I have found what I love to do. I love to write and I will continue to write.

Not Good at Time Management

It's been a month since I got this full time writing job and I am really very thankful for it. (Hmmm..who can resist a very nice offer?) I've been writing full time and also getting additional writing assignments from other bloggers; and did I mention that I am also a part-time Virtual Assistant? All of these jobs are courtesy of my boss, Fedhz..hihihi..Oh I forgot, I am also into writing ebook.
Did somebody mention that we only have 24 hours in one day? Geez! how can I squeeze in all these tasks in one day and at the same time be a Mom to my kids and a loving wife to my hubby? The answer is, I DON'T KNOW! With all these writing jobs plus the errands in running our entire household, my hands are definitely full everyday and even during the weekends. Sad to say but it means lesser time to enjoy watching movies with my family.
It is hard to manage time, and to be honest I am never good with time management. I am not sure with other writers, but for me, once the ideas are flowing inside my mind I need to write it or else; it would vanish into thin air. Things are made a lot easier because I have my kids (Jet, Gab and Jeon ) to help me in doing the household chores. My hubby who is not busy with work this time is also a big help. That is why whenever I get my payout, I have to make sure that we treat ourselves with a lot of yummy food.
I am working hard for the money to have something to spend for my kids. I would not want to burden my hubby with all the responsibilities in terms of our finances. As of now, I am enjoying my job and although I have little complaints because I can no longer have my siesta time, I am still very thankful for the additional income that we are receiving. I will do everything and anything for my kids, with or without my hubby to depend on (but thank God, he is there for me too!)
