ABC Wednesday Challenge: K

It's summertime once again, and that means my KIDS will hang out in the house most of the time. I am in deep thought on what summer activities would Keep these Kids busy the entire summer. Maybe I should ask hubby to teach them how to make Kites and fly them.

Or maybe it's time to teach them how to do Kitchen chores like cooking. But then again, I would have to convince my eldest on being near the cooking stove. He met an accident last month that gave him burnt scars on the body.
this is Jet's burnt skin
I guess I should start listing the activities that my Kids can do this summer before I start turning into a monster mom.LOL.
biking is one my kids' favorite activities

Mommy Moments: White

"Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow.
Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool." - Isaiah 1:18

This Bible verse never cease to amaze me on how forgiving our Lord God is. White is always associated with purity and cleanliness. For this week's Mommy Moments, I am very glad to share with you photos of my kids looking so good and angelic in white.

ABC Wednesday: "J"

My family is rich is letter J; all of my boys' name start with it. Did I do it on purpose? Maybe in a way, because I like to scribble the letter "J". The cursive letter "J" fascinates me for some reason unknown to me. Anyways, let's start with DadEngr.; his name is JOEY
Then my 'tween and eldest son's name is JUAN RAPHAEL we also call him JET

My middle child's name is JUSTIN GABRIEL, that is Gab for us but Justin to his friends.

My youngest and the preschooler's name is JEON AENIED, and everyone calls him JEE.
I think these four J's are enough for the ABC Wednesday entry for now.

Blue Monday: My First Entry

This is my first entry for Blue Monday since I feel so down today because of the fever, cough and cold; I opted to look for pictures that would make me feel high. And I mean literally high, here are some of the photos taken on the 16th Hotair Balloon Festival last February.

Mommy Momments: Purple

Purple is associated with nobility and spirituality. It is also considered as the color of royalty. But for my little boy Jeon, he opted to have a purple shirt because his favorite Yum (one of the Jollitown characters) is wearing a purple shirt too.
This is Yum
That's Yum and Jeon
I have my share of purple too! I just bought purple clothes hangers this morning (not on purpose though). I also have a photo of me wearing purple during my cousin's baby shower.

I have mastered the art of multi-tasking blogging while doing the laundry
With my cousins (Asha and Pong)
Just a few MommyLESsons about purple, lighter shade of purple suggests romance and the darker ones suggests riches. If you want to cool down, it is always nice to wear purple in bluer shades. See more of the purple shade on other Mommy Moments entries.

TCP Entry: Nell

In 1994, the movie "Nell" won the Best Actress award for Jodi Foster. In this week's TCP theme, it is all about movies which won Best Actress award. I remember watching this film in the movie house with my cousins. I think this movie came after another very good movie Schindler's List.

Here is the plot of the movie based on Wikipedia:
"When stroke victim Violet Kellty dies in her home in the North Carolina forest, the town doctor, Jerry Lovell (Liam Neeson), finds a terrified young woman hiding in the rafters of the house. She speaks angrily and rapidly, but seems to have a language of her own. Looking at Violet's Bible, he finds a note asking whoever finds it to look after her daughter, Nell. The sheriff shows him a news clipping from which he surmises that Nell (Jodie Foster) is the dead woman’s daughter, conceived by a rapist.
Jerry seeks the help of Dr. Paula Olsen (Natasha Richardson), a researcher working with autistic children. Almost immediately Paula discovers that Nell's language is English, based partly on her mother's aphasic speech after a stroke. Jerry and Paula begin a grudging friendship, although he detests her coldly clinical, analytical tactics."

This is a must see movie and I suggest if you can find a copy of this film take time to watch it  and you will definitely be moved by the excellent acting prowess of Jodi Foster. There is no doubt she truly deserved the Best Actress award.

Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Destruction

Thanks to Google for the Photo
After the earthquake in New Zealand and China; another earthquake of magnitude 8.9 hit Japan and caused a 33ft tsunami. Watching TV news can be quite depressing and a bit scary. But these events should not stop us from moving forward. I guess this is Mother Earth's way of reminding us that we only have one place to live in; and we should take care of our surroundings. Japan is known for its dynamic economy, hence in no time they will be able to pick up the pieces of what's left and move on with life. As they rebuild their new homes, they also begin to rebuild their lives and their dreams.

Let's pray for those people who were affected by the calamity and fervently hope that such incident would not occur in our country. Save Mother Earth before it's too late!

TCP Entry: A Beautiful Mind

Thanks to Google for the Photo
This week's theme for TCP is all about Movies with Best Actor Award. There are so many good films that I like which won the Best Actor award. But my final choice is the movie "A Beautiful Mind" which won Russel Crowe another Best Actor award.

Here is the storyline of the movie as shown at IMDb:

"Biopic of the famed mathematician John Nash and his lifelong struggles with his mental health. Nash enrolled as a graduate student at Princeton in 1948 and almost immediately stood out as an odd duck. He devoted himself to finding something unique, a mathematical theorem that would be completely original. He kept to himself for the most part and while he went out for drinks with other students, he spends a lot of time with his roommate, Charles, who eventually becomes his best friend. John is soon a professor at MIT where he meets and eventually married a graduate student, Alicia. Over time however John begins to lose his grip on reality, eventually being institutionalized diagnosed with schizophrenia. As the depths of his imaginary world are revealed, Nash withdraws from society and it's not until the 1970s that he makes his first foray back into the world of academics, gradually returning to research and teaching. In 1994, John Nash was awarded the Nobel prize in Economics."

Russell Crowe was very effective in his portrayal John Nash, and if you have seen the movie; you would definitely feel his struggle in life. I had to shed tears in some part of the movie (I am such a cry-baby). I strongly recommend watching this film and see for yourself how great actor Russell Crowe is.

Check out other movies with Best Actor awards on other TCP Entries. I hope you could also visit me in my other home. Enjoy watching movies!

    Importance of Logo

Have you ever thought the importance of logo in a business and why marketing and advertising people think so hard to come up with catchy logo? Logo serves as a representation of the business, so it is very important to design a logo depending on the type of image you want your business to portray.

It aids in the ability of the customers to remember your business. It is very important to note that logo design should be simple but effective. It should be a graphic design or picture because most people would remember pictures instead of words.

Your logo is the extension of your business identity; which aims to communicate with your target market visually. If you have already thought of the perfect design for your business, it is much better to get a graphic designer to do the logo for your business. It may be costly but then again in the long run, it is a wise investment for the business.
