Business Card, a Status Symbol?

Is a business card considered a status symbol? Is is a subtle way of bragging one's achievements? My boss and I were talking yesterday regarding the work title versus your real passion. It is not enough that you earn the title but your should be passionate with what you do. Then that is the only time that you can say that you are proud with what you do. I don't work as in the traditional work of going to the office or the field to do my job, I work at home. I can have customized business cards made to hand out to friends whenever we meet. But I opted not too.

my badge
In case someday I would decide to have a customized business card, I wonder what design should I use. Would I carry my blog badge? Do I need to include in the card the company name of my full-time online work? Since my blog badge is a drawing of a little girl, would it look like a professional business card or a party invitation? LOL. Maybe I should try to check out for serious designs, like that of the spiritualbusinesscards But then again, maybe not!

My business card would definitely include my blog badge, because little by little I am becoming more passionate about improving and enhancing my skills, so I can call myself a "blogger". Am I right boss Fedhz?

Year of the Rabbit 2011

Thanks to Google for the photo
The year of the rabbit will officially start on February 3, 2011. This will be a placid year compared to the year of the tiger of 2010. The coming year will be generally calm and quiet to the point wherein people will become to lax in implementing law, rules and regulations.
2011 is the year of Metal Rabbit ; I was born 1975 and I am a Wood Rabbit. This is how Wood Rabbit people are described according to Chinese culture:

"People who are born in the year of Rabbit with the element of Wood are full of ideas. They appears to be very shrewd and somewhat outgoing. However, the truth is Wood Rabbit people can be quite fussy. They are detail oriented people where little things may upset them quickly. Wood Rabbit people are also very stubborn, especially in romance. A bad relationship may leave a life-long scar on them. Wood Rabbit people never share their opinions in the public and they are good at keeping a secret. They are usually very lucky when encounter a problem because someone will always pull them out of the mess."

What do we expect for the year of the Metal Rabbit? Well in general, the Rabbit encourages saving (conserving money, resources and goods) , sound investments (lower interest, longer term and more certain to yield) , beautification projects (property and personal - even plastic surgery) , enduring love (marriage, babies, acquisition of property, pets and friendships) and learning (courses in myriad and sundry subjects) Choose to involve yourself in any of the above and your year will go swimmingly. Should you choose otherwise and wax aggressive, antagonistic or pushy, you will be swimming upstream all the way.

To Tattoo or Not To Tattoo

I have been contemplating on putting a tattoo on either my back or foot; but I chickened out whenever the schedule of having a tattoo has arrived. In fact, me and hubby are planning to have tattoos on our left ring finger; this is in replacement of a wedding ring. We plan to have a tattoo ring to make sure that it would stay there for the rest of our lives.
My bro Warren
When I was younger, I am not the adventurous type who would try out new things that's why I never had the chance to get a tattoo back then. My brother Warren had his first tattoo when he was already a professional; after that first tattoo it seems to be very addicting because until now he continues to make his body a canvas.

Henna Tattoo on my left foot
I have tried some henna tattoos placed on my foot and at my back. Maybe soon I will have a real tattoo placed on my body; but I need to look for a design that I would not regret having for the rest of my life.

Mission Impossible: Lose Weight

I love to eat but the problem is I eat a lot of junk. I can't live a day without my favorite carbonated drink. Couple of years ago, I was able to achieve my lowest weight after having kids. It became an easy task for me to lose weight that time because I was still working.

Now that I am a stay-at-home-mom (SAHM), I am having a hard time doing it. They say that doing household chores can help lose weight; I don't think that is applicable to me. I am not a hearty-eater but whenever hubby is around and we eat together as family; that is another story. Whenever time and budget would allow, my hubby and I would do food tripping. We love to visit restaurants in the area that we find interesting.

But now, I guess I am determined to do it! Although whenever I ask my hubby whether I look fat, he would answer no. But when I ask my kids on how I look, they would all answer in chorus; that I look fat. As they say, kids don't lie. So I told myself that I need to do it now and I am only giving myself a month to lose all these unwanted fats.

How would I do it? limit my intake of carbonated drink and eventually to totally remove it from my system. Eat only good food and stay away from the bad stuff. Exercise a lot; since after doing household chores I am stuck in front of the computer meeting the deadline of my writing assignments. I do not have time to burn calories. I just hope that I can reach my goal and eventually wear that nice piece of outfit I saw in the mall.
