Wine Tips: Find the Perfect Wine for the Meal

Wine connoisseurs would definitely know which wine is the perfect one for the meal. As I was checking out some wine offers on the internet and I saw gift set of 3 bottles of different luxury wines. The gift set of wines is definitely a perfect thing to give for a dining enthusiasts. It does not cost much, actually the average price per bottle of wine is around 15pounds per bottle. For the wine newbies like me, here are some useful tips to find the perfect wine to match your chosen meal:
  • White wines are best served together with the appetizers.Chardonay is the best partner for strong cheese, oysters, grilled pork and chicken.
  • Red wines are not served on the opening of the course because of its heaviness. This type of wine is best served for entrees' like pasta with red sauce and beef dishes.
The next time you and your partner go out on a special dinner date, you would already have an idea which wine to enjoy for each course of the meal.

Mama Sha's Birthday Celebration

Xtremely Xpresso

My cousin Sharon or Mama Sha as my kids call her celebrated her birthday with us (it was supposed to be with the kids alone, but they have no choice we have to drive for them). We went to Extremely Espresso as recommended by my hubby. He was always telling story about the extra large size pizza, so we thought of giving it a try.

Of course my youngest son Jeon was so excited about it because he already saw the big pizza on the table beside us. So when our pica-pica was served with was Nachos with all the toppings you can think of (cheese, mayo, black olives, ground meat, veggies etc); he did not even took a bite. He said he does not eat chips and would rather wait for the pizza.

And when it was time for the pizza to be served, you could see how Jeon's eyes sparkle with excitement and could not wait to eat it.

The Blue Lemonade is the best partner for the pizza and the nachos. It was a fun and gastronomically fulfilling experience to dine at Xtremely Xpresso. I am definitely sure that this won't be the last time we would be visiting the place. In fact, the kids can't wait for payday because we promised them that we will go back to the place.

Because it was not only the kids who enjoyed eating at the place, even my hubby enjoyed it because it was not "damaging" to the budget compared to other restaurants.

Pig Out with Typhoon Juan

Home made Spaghetti with buttered roll and Home-made Coffee Jelly
Frequent brownouts for the past few days left us with nothing to do. The kids are all here and hubby is at home too; I can't do my stuff because there was no electric power; what is there left to do but to pig out! Surrounded by bunch of growing kids, they all seem to be hungry all the time. Since I have my free time to cook for them, I came up with home-made spaghetti and hubby did the butter rolls. Our meal time served as bonding time for me and my family. We are trying to skip on drinking soda; so I made a home-made coffee jelly (recipe from my mother-in-law).
